Inland Service - Cairns to Cooktown

This service travels through a vast range of counrty side and is a worth while look at the other side of North Queensland getting away from the rainforest and reef for a brief moment.

• After departing Cairns this service winds up the picturesque Kuranda Range just west of Cairns.
• Head to Mareeba at the northern end of the Atherton Tablelands
• Travel north to Mt Molloy and Mt Carbine
• Short Break at Mt Carbine
• Travelling through dry arid mountainous countryside
• Take in spectacular views to the Palmer River
• Travel on to Byersdown Range with a great view overlooking Lakeland Downs and Cooktown in the distance
• Arrive Lakeland Downs
• Travel on to Cooktown crossing over the last section of dirt road on this route which should be bitumen by the end of 2005.
