ABOUT
Country Road Coachlines owned and operated by ALLAN C HARLOW ( the local boy ) was formed on 2nd February 2003 two days after the liquidation of the former Coral Coaches.
The first service taken on was the Inland route to Cooktown via Mareeba, Mt Molloy, Mt Carbine, Palmer River and Lakeland Downs servicing the area three services a week.
In late May 2003, Country Road Coachlines commenced a service on the Coastal route running three services to and from Cooktown via Port Douglas, Mossman, Cow bay, Cape Tribulation and Bloomfield.
On Monday 29th March 2004 the initial service was made along the Karumba route with the service becoming full time on the 5th of April 2004 servicing the area once a week. A second service to Karumba began on the 22nd of April 2004. This serviced Mareeba, Atherton, Herberton, Ravenshoe, Mt Garnet, Undara, Mt Surprise, Georgetown, Croydon, Normanton and Karumba.
Country Road Coachlines now prides itself in providing far north Queensland with an efficient, express passenger and freight service on 3 routes from Cairns to Cooktown & Karumba. |
